Na začátku do titulků vypravěč sděluje, co uvidíme. Dva gangsteři, Nat Burdell (Kenne Duncan) a Brad Conley (Ewing Miles Brown), unesou bohatou Margaret Chaffee (Marilyn Harvey). Se svou společnicí Esther Malone (Jeanne Tatum) odvezou dívku do horské chaty, kde chtějí čekat na výkupné od jejího otce. V horách San Gabriel pracuje geolog Dick Cutler (Robert Clarke), který v noci pozoruje pád meteoritu. Jenže to je ve skutečnosti kosmická loď, ze které vypochoduje krásná mimozemšťanka (Shirley Kilpatrick) ve velmi těsné zářící kombinéze. Všichni se střetnou u chaty a geolog se stane zajatcem gangsterů. Pak se objeví záhadná žena z kosmické lodi, jeden z gangsterů se ji pokusí zastřelit, což ji nijak nevzrušuje a dotykem ho zabije. Ostatní se pokusí utéci do lesů, mimozemšťanka postupně zabije i Esther, pak i Burdella. Zbylá dva se vrátí do chaty a geolog namíchá směs žíravin, která by, jak se domnívá, mohla být proti monstru účinná. Zjistí ale také, že jde o vyslankyni Rady planet galaxie, která zabíjí jen v sebeobraně. Co dále – máme přijmout pozvání Rady? Co to lidstvu přinese? (Peabody)
